 A Thought for Today....

"Autumn carries more gold in it's pocket than all of the other seasons."

Jim Bishop

A special series of miniature paintings at gift giving prices, a selected collection on sale for the holiday, Open House, Limited Edition Prints.... the possibilities are endless....but it's time to ACT!!:)

Shared From the CEO of Where ART Lives-HAPPY FALL!! - Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY FALL!!

I realize I am a few days late....but I have been busy getting my FALL on!!:)

Fall is my very favorite season!!

It symbolizes so many things. It is another official New Beginning, and I love new beginnings!!

For me, it also symbolizes the ever so subtle start of the Holiday Season; I mean when you think about it the first day of winter is December 21st, by then the holiday season is almost over!!

Christmas is my favorite holiday, but the 6 weeks leading up to it is my favorite time!!

On Friday, I put my fall wreath on the door and gave the petunias on my front porch a little company, adding a pumpkin and a couple of pots of mums....not the mums I really love- those were not in yet at my local store, but these will do for now!

On Saturday I made a trip to the Yankee candle store to purchase my 6 month supply of Salted Caramel candles...which I will burn every day until the last Colorado snow has come and gone
( probably April), meaning my winter will flow into what may already be Spring for many of you!!

On Sunday I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and a big pot of pot roast and vegetable soup!! YUM!!

Leave a comment below and tell me what you love about fall, or what you favorite fall food is, or, email me a photo of your fall decor and I will share it!!:) (kkconrad2@aol.com)

A Thought for Today.....

"Fall paints in colors that summer has never seen"

  I think this is beautiful!
This is not my quote, I saw it on Pinterest, but the text with the author's name was too small to   read.

Shared from the CEO of Where ART Lives-Morning Practices with Kimberly Conrad

A Thought for Today......

"Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, and the golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your FIRST hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.

Og Mandino

I love this. I truly consider the very first hour I am awake to be my Golden Hour.

What I do in that first hour really does set the tone for my day, whether it be 5:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m., whether I am home, or on the road for business or pleasure.

I start my day with a few minutes of deep breathing,  prayers of thankfulness that I have been given the gift of another day on this earth, and then a long list of things I am thankful for, from the big things like health and life, to the smaller things like the fact that all of my sons have good jobs and safe, reliable cars to drive.

I try to do this before my feet hit the floor, but sometimes my furry friends do not allow me that luxury, as I wake to one of them scratching to get out the door and down the stairs to do their morning job! In this case, I start again, in my big leather chair in the breakfast nook, surrounded by those same little furry friends.

I follow this with a short time of meditation, and reflection on the day to come, then a bit of time reading something that feeds my soul, inspires my heart. Sometimes I linger here, other times it may be just a paragraph.

THEN....what has been truly life giving to me....a time of verbal affirmations.

I have notebooks full of sentences, quotes and verses I have written down over the years, that speak life, love, joy, peace, inspiration and success to me in all areas of my life.....self love, relationships, business, my mission on this planet....

The practice of saying these things OUT LOUD ( not just thinking them) changed my life.

There's a very distinct difference in the days that begin this way, and the days that do not....so I have learned to be diligent in this practice.

Regardless of starting this way...there are of course those days when the stink still just hits the fan, and I find myself having to find a corner, and repeat a mini version of this morning practice, or at least some part of it.... I call this a RESET.

Somedays require multiple resets, but that is one of the beautiful things about this wondrous life, every minute is a NEW beginning.......we can RESET as many times a day as we need to!!

Shared from the CEO of Where ART Lives-Change

A Thought for Today.... "

I am open to the new and changing. Every moment presents a wonderful new opportunity to become more of who I am, more of who I was created to be. I flow with life easily and effortlessly."

Louise Hay with a little Kimberly Conrad added in:)

I am a BIG believer in the power of the spoken word.

I have notebooks full of affirming sentences and scriptures that I speak out loud daily.

I learned long ago, that it is not enough to just denounce a negative thought when it pops into your mind; it is critical to have a positive thought to counter it with.

And...if you speak the thought out loud it is even more powerful, as it is then being communicated to you on multiple levels.

For me, it is not enough just to think it, I need to hear it out loud and verbalize it.

Shared from the CEO of Where ART Lives-Wedding

Hello Everyone!!

Forgive Me....

It has been awhile since I have written here.

As an art/business coach it is quite embarrassing to have dropped the ball here in the past several weeks! Life has just demanded every minute of my time.

All I can do is hop back in the saddle!

The trip to Italy, though marvelous in every way left me quite behind in work, and just about the time I got caught up, I took on new clients, new projects, then WEDDING MONTH began, during which time I also moved my youngest son from Colorado to California.

My oldest son got married in August 21st, and the month prior was full of frantic activity culminating in what was the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. It was truly like a fairytale.

There were five straight days of events around the wedding! Yikes!!

Weddings have really changed. I guess I'm dating myself but in my day there was just a wedding!! Maybe a simple rehearsal dinner for the wedding party at your local restaurant.

In the two weeks since the wedding (around my hubby's shoulder surgery) I have been catching up on all the work that I neglected to attend those five days of pre-wedding events.

Anyhow, I'm very excited to be back in my groove and I spent the holiday weekend in my studios painting, so I am actually feeling like an artist again! Painting is so very good for my soul.

I have even been able to resume my writing again in the evenings, and am working on some new things to share.

Below is my favorite iphone picture from the wedding -just for kicks!!

Shared from the CEO of Where ART Lives- Happy September!!

I can hardly believe it is September!

Summer 2016 has truly been a whirlwind. Now we are preparing for fall.

These days fall seems to launch us right into the holiday countdown. In fact, as of yesterday the Pumpkin Spice Latte is now available at Starbucks!! My favorite holiday drink that used to come out in November, then they moved it to October 1st, and now it apparently comes out in September 1st!

I know many of our artists have young kids that are back in school and some have ushered older kids off to college and are now empty nesters. Some are grandparents , and have reveled in summer visits with grandchildren.

Two weeks ago, I watched my oldest son marry, and welcomed a precious new daughter into my family. August passed at lightening speed and while it was full of JOY, and wonderful new experiences,  I am so very happy to welcome the month of September.

Yesterday, I was forced to spend a couple hours in the hospital waiting room while my husband had shoulder surgery and I spent the entire time in a stack of my favorite magazines.

Beautiful table settings, fall home decor, holiday clothing-oodles and gobs of COLOR!

COLOR is what inspires me most!! If I could be on color overload I would be, but that's just not possible; I know I dreamt in technicolor last night!!

My creative juices are running at mach speed, and my artist spirit is demanding that I now commit to long hours back in the studio. I could not be more happy to oblige!

Leave us a comment below. Tell us your favorite summer memory, or share what is inspiring you as we move towards fall!
