Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives-MORE ON SHARING

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY.....

SHARING MAKES YOU BIGGER THAN YOU ARE-THE MORE YOU POUR OUT-THE MORE LIFE WILL BE ABLE TO POUR IN.
Jim Rohn

There is a concept that if your hands are open to giving- they are also open to receiving-and if they are closed to giving- they are also closed to receiving.

I think the quote above in blue by Jim Rohn- can give a similar visual - imagine that there is only so much ROOM inside of us- if we want new things to come in- we have to make some room-release some of what is within-by sharing it with others:)

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives-CREATIVES

 Happy New Year!!!!

I said I was going to say that every day of January-then forgot for a few  days!!!!
I was reminded today as I looked at the few Happy New Year cards still on my desk
 waiting to be addressed...YIKES!!

Last Friday I talked about how important it is to have a solid network of "creatives"  in your life.

Fellow professionals that are also on an entrepreneurial journey.

People who support your vision and with whom there can be an exchange of ideas, encouragement-  and knowledge.

These people do not have to be in your exact field, though I think at least a few should be.

Today I was able to spend a few hours with one my my "creatives".

She has been a medical professional for almost 50 years, and has recently written a wonderful book  and documentary, about life in this field. I will share more as the book is published,  I am so honored  that she chose one of my paintings as the cover art.

I helped her with a bit of editing- and left so happy and inspired.
I love to see people, going for and realizing their dreams...I love to cheer them on through the hard  stuff...and celebrate their milestones and successes.

I have never understood those who hoard and hide valuable information, as if we are all in competition with each other. Of all of the things that bring me joy, the sweetest is knowing I have encouraged someone uncertain, given hope to someone that wanted to give up, passed on knowledge that aided someone in going to the next level in life, personal growth, spiritual growth or business.....you never who around you is ready to quit behind that brave face.

Be generous with your words, and smiles, write notes of encouragement and send them snail mail-pass on the knowledge that someone was generous enough to pass on to you....BETTER YET..pass on the knowledge that was so long and painful for you to learn....if you can save the next guy a little bit of that agony- why wouldn't you?????

Kimberly Conrad

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives-SHOULD-ERS

 THOUGHTS FOR TODAY....ON...SHOULD-ERS

Last night I was thumbing through old issues of the magazine Where Women Create.

It's such a fabulous, inspiring publication and only comes out quarterly.

I need to subscribe , because I am always at the book store a week or 2 too early asking when it  will be on the shelf. If you've never read it, you must pick up a copy.

I came across a TIP given by Nashville artist Kellie Montana  ( http://www.meandmycanvas.comthat I love- I have said this very thing to myself and my clients in a variety of ways- but here is hers...

There will be no shortage of SHOULD-ERS in your creative life, saying you should do this, you  should do that. Rise to the challenge of listening to your own voice, and to that one be true.

This resonates with me , and I am sure with most of you as well.
The truth is that if I had listened to some of the well-meaning folk in my own life, I would not be doing most of what I am doing today, or many of the things that were stepping stones that led me to where I am today.

It's not that "THEY" don't love you, or that they don't want you to be happy, it's just that your VISION is your own. It was breathed into you, usually in such a profound, divine way, that you KNOW it is your path. It was NOT breathed into them.....they cannot see what you see.

Many SHOULD-ERS cannot have the faith in you that you have in yourself until there is tangible evidence of success. This, I know first hand can make for a scary, lonely journey- especially in the early stages of growing your craft or business.

I believe it is incredibly important to surround yourself with creative people that are also on an entrepreneurial journey. People that feed your creative spirit and energize you, people with whom there can be an exchange, of support and encouragement.

I am very fortunate to have a FABULOUS network of "creatives" who also happen to be power houses in the business arena. They are amazing women that I cannot get enough of!!
We are all very very busy- so our times together are often very tough to schedule- yet once we commit- we always leave each other's company energized, inspired and ready to go to the next level in some area of our lives.

If you do not have such a network, I would encourage, even CHALLENGE  you to get to work on that immediately!!:) AND....once you have created these relationships, keep your
meetings near the top of your priority list.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Conrad

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives- "The Day That Turns Your Life Around" with Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am going to say that every day of January!!

Last week I shared a bit about Jim Rohn, who was a mentor to some of the most successful people in business today...but he was more than that,  his messages were such that you could apply to every part of your life- not just your business.

I love his books...loves his videos...and love his sense of humor.

He had such a witty way of delivering some pretty profound truths....there are oodles of videos
and video clips of him from 2 minutes to 6 hours long- I have watched them all numerous times.

Today I am sharing a short one with a powerful message- he is able to say a LOT of very simple yet profound things in a very short period of time!!

This Video Clip is titled "The Day That Turns Your Life Around"

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives- DISCIPLINE With Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am going to say that every day of January!!

A few days ago, I shared That my personal WORD for 2016 is DISCIPLINE.

Below is a quote from Darren Hardy of Success Magazine to think on today....

"It is not what you know that determines the results in your life-knowledge is not power in and of itself. Power is created by what you do with what you know."

Hmmmm.... so you have to DO and Doing takes what???  Yep....DISCIPLINE

Do you have a special WORD for 2016, or an area in your life that needs a new kind of Discipline?

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives- THE DISEASES OF ATTITUDE with Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am going to say that every day of January!!

On January 1st, I shared some news....if you missed it- you can read it HERE

SHARING TODAY:

I voraciously read works that will motivate and encourage me-both personally and as a business professional. Jim Rohn ( who has now passed away) has been one of my favorites for many years now. He was a great leader in business- and a mentor to many of today's top leaders in business.  One of my favorite sayings of his is "You must work harder on yourself than you do on your business", He knew that if SELF is not in order, BUSINESS cannot be either....
His words and concepts are timeless.  I have read all of his books (multiple times) and watched every video I can find of him more times than I care to admit- I often play them while I am working- they never cease to motivate!!

I will share much more on him as we go- but today I will whet your appetite with a short little video on  THE DISEASES OF ATTITUDE!:)

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives- More on DISCIPLINE with Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am going to say that every day of January!!

Yesterday I shared a video clip of Jim Rohn- a business leader whose books and videos have greatly motivated me over the years and continue to do so.

Here is another one of my favorite Jim Rohn quotes:

"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment."

Remember the quote I shared a few days ago by Beth Moore?

"Creativity minus discipline equals unrealized potential"

Each Year I choose ONE word to be my THEME WORD for the whole year- this is different from my goals for the year, for there are many of those.

This is one word that I meditate on - study in depth and am VERY intentional about applying to all parts of my life.

I thought I had chosen another word for 2016- but in my daily readings, studies and quiet moments so far this year, the word that keeps popping up is DISCIPLINE.

So.....this year I will systematically evaluate every area of my life -personally, relationally and professionally - and begin to implement NEW DISCIPLINES!!

Wish Me luck!!

Do you have a special WORD for 2016, or an area in your life that needs a new kind of Discipline?
Feel free to share below in Comments!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I'm going to say that every day of January!!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY....

I READ an interesting take on FEAR recently:

 F-E-A-R has two meanings-

Forget Everything and Run or Face Everything and Rise
                                    Zig Ziglar

I like the second:)

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives-BE KIND TO YOURSELF with Kimberly Conrad

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am going to say that every day of January!!:)

 Thanks for stopping by..

On January 1st, I shared some news....if you missed it- you can read it HERE

I have been doing a bit of ROLLING IN THE DEEP (also called REFLECTING) the past few days- as most of us do at the beginning of the new year.

Looking at old journal entries- reviewing what my goals were last year-which ones I achieved- where I fell short--all that jazz!!

I said in yesterday's post that my #1 goal this year is to be better at Gratitude- so after perusing through my journals from 2015- my #2 goal for 2016 is to Be KINDER to ME !!
Less critical for sure!!

I am a kind person and I believe a wonderful friend- to everyone but ME!!:)

So let me reword the sentence above "reviewing what my goals were last year-which ones I achieved- where I fell short!"  to BE  "reviewing what my goals were last year-which ones I achieved-and which ones I get to roll over onto this years list"

Doesn't that sound kinder to you??

I'd like to challenge you to be KINDER to yourself this year- as kind as you are to your very Best Friend:)

I wish you KINDNESS in 2016:)

Daily Thoughts from the CEO of Where ART Lives-GRATITUDE with Kimberly Conrad

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Thanks for stopping by..

I am excited to be participating yet again, in Leslie Saeta's 30 day painting challenge.

Though I am a prolific painter, the truth is I have not painted in weeks.

My sweet hubby had open heart surgery the 2nd of December, and the week before that was full of pre-op tests and appointments.

As the CEO of Where ART Lives, I have been working hard along with my fabulous creative     director Lisa Kreymborg making wonderful changes to our site, and our 100 blogs, as we continue the process of re-branding....we can't wait for you to see it all!

Lisa has also been hard at work on the January 2016 issue of Where ART Lives Magazine, you will find it on all of our sites the 7th of January.

It would be true to say...this is the longest I have ever NOT painted since I began painting!!

So I'm eager to take the challenge, hoping to get back on track, and anxious about whether I can   actually follow through and complete it!!

This is a wonderful project to participate in, as it brings together artists in all stages of their art       Journey, to share, inspire, and even mentor each other, and.... it's just plain FUN!

Bravo Leslie for beginning another year with the 30 Day Challenge.

January 1st I shared some news....if you missed it- you can read it HERE

Can you believe it is January 1st?? WHY does the holiday season fly by so quickly?

It always does, and we know that it's going to every single year-yet when its done, we STILL ask
ourselves "how did it go so fast?" I find that truly funny.

What is not very funny is that life is like the holidays, we know it's going to fly by, we see it ourselves when we look back, people near then end of their journey TELL us that it's going to fly by- and for some reason we are still shocked when it does.

That is why it's so important to practice Gratitude daily. The posture and practice of Gratitude
facilitates JOY, and a JOYFUL life is a Beautiful-Fulfilling life. How can you not be JOYFUL on some level when you are consciously acknowledging all of the beautiful things in your life?

There is hardship and heartache yes, there are broken relationships, there is job loss, financial strain, illness, loss of loved ones....the list goes on.

I have experienced all of the above and so, I am sure, have all of you!

My #1 Goal for 2016 is to get Better at Gratitude....to PRACTICE Gratitude.

I need PRACTICE, because it does not come naturally for me when the road is hard.
At times I have literally had to force myself to seek out all that IS good in my life and say Thank You out loud. But with the Thank You- comes JOY- and I want JOY every single day.

I wish you JOY in 2016:)
